The purpose of our framing is to support and showcase your art and keepsakes while properly protecting it from damage in the years to come. Proper archival framing should last a lifetime. Our designers and framers have strong backgrounds in custom framing including degrees in art. They are skilled crafts people using modern conservation techniques to protect your piece for the future. Few things can enhance the look of a room as dramatically as a custom framed piece of art or special keepsake.
An important part of conservation framing is the mat or border surrounding your piece inside the frame. This mat should be acid-free. It prevents your art from touching the glass, sticking to it and becoming ruined should moisture seep inside. Adding a mat or mats not only helps conserve your piece but also enhances the look of your art. If you frame without matting, the use of spacers to separate the art from the glass is recommended.
Another important part of conservation framing is the use of UV protective glass or Plexiglas. Ask our designers to show you samples of different glazing options.
